Innovative Strategies for Improving Diabetes & Cardiovascular Disease @ CA Right Care Initiative

On Tuesday, October 26, we will have the pleasure of hearing from three diabetes and cardiovascular disease experts. Endocrinologist Marc G. Jaffe, MD, will first present about the intersection of diabetes & cardiovascular disease. As Chief of Endocrinology at the Kaiser Permanente San Francisco Medical Center and Associate Professor at UCSF, he will share his extensive experience in mitigating these two deathly conditions. he was instrumental in developing the Kaiser Permanente Hypertension and PHASE (Prevention Heart Attacks and Strokes Everyday) program that is associated with significant improvement in cardiovascular outcomes.

In our second hour, we will be joined by Director of Research and Innovation David Kerr, MBChB, DM, FRCP, FRCPE, and Associate Director of the Mil Familias Programs Namino Glantx, PhD, from the William Sansum Diabetes Research Institute. They will share innovative strategies for improving diabetic outcomes. The William Sansum Diabetes Research Institute was founded in 1944 by Dr. William Sansum, who was one of the first physicians in the United States to successfully treat diabetic patients with insulin.
